3 Options to Fill In Those Permanent Teeth Gaps

Posted .

Don’t let teeth gaps keep you from showing off your pearly whites.

Not everyone is blessed with perfect, healthy teeth their whole lives. Sometimes as adults, we lose a tooth or two. Now, having teeth gaps in your smile isn’t as terrible as some may think, but it isn’t too great either. Rather than having a gap in our smile, here are three options you can do to have a full set of teeth:

Dental Implants

Think of a dental implant as a tooth. The implant is considered the root of a tooth which is a metal post that is surgically placed into the jawbone. Once the post is in place, the dentist then places a fabricated crown, the actual tooth, on top of the post. Dental Implants are permanent and last a lifetime.

A Bridge

Unlike dental implants that have the post (implant) and a fabricated crown, a bridge just has the fabricated crown. Think of it as an actual bridge; it hooks onto remaining teeth on the sides of the gap and mounts over the empty space. Like dental implants, a bridge is permanent and lasts a lifetime.

Dentures

Sometimes dental implants or a bridge just don’t cut it. Sometimes you need non-permanent teeth that can be taken in and out of your mouth. Dentures are custom-made teeth replacements and are more natural looking and more comfortable than ever. They take time getting used to, but it’s much better than not having any teeth to chew with.

As most know, not everyone has a perfect set of teeth, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed. If you have teeth gaps, a missing tooth or even a few, ask your dentist what the best solution is to fill in those gaps.
